JOHANNA ZWAIG
I'LL REPEAT THIS SONG UNTIL I'M KICKED OUT

While voices are disappearing.
While walls are thickening.
While festungs are killing.
I'll cut the barbed wire.
I'll cut the barbed wire.
I'll sing qué sufrimiento más grande.
This is a lament and a protest.

I'LL REPEAT THIS SONG UNTIL I'M KICKED OUT is the second performance in a trilogy. I'LL REPEAT THIS SONG UNTIL DAWN was the first one.

Johanna Zwaig (1975) has a broad background, from theatre studies at Ecole Internationale de Théâtre, Jacques Lecoq, in Paris to flamenco studies in Andalucía, from solo performances to collaborative works in artspaces, theatres and outdoors. Since her first solo performance in 1997, flamenco has been running through her practice in different ways. Starting out as a dancer, she has since 2011 been investigating the flamenco song, learning from gitanos in Jerez de la Frontera. Now she is incorporating the song in long, insisting, repetitive performance works, mourning over injustice, crying for change.
